City Hall Tea Party is held.

December 17, 1967

The event, which is held on the anniversary of the original Boston Tea Party, is an attempt by Mayor Collins to be the first mayor to occupy the yet-to-be-completed building. But after spending that day and the next day working in the unheated building, Collins contracts pneumonia and is bedridden for weeks. The building is not dedicated until 1969.*
